MIAMI — President Donald Trump on Monday unveiled renderings of a planned skyscraper in downtown Miami that would house his presidential library and museum, according to posts on social media by Trump and his son Eric Trump.

The video shared on Truth Social depicts a towering glass structure along Biscayne Boulevard that would rise over the Miami skyline, including near the historic Freedom Tower and the Kaseya Center. The renderings show the building emblazoned with large illuminated "Trump" lettering near the top, beneath a red, white and blue spire. Interior views include replicas of White House elements such as the Oval Office and Rose Garden, a golden escalator, a presidential ballroom, and displays featuring aircraft including what appears to be Air Force One.

Eric Trump, a trustee of the Trump Presidential Library Foundation, also shared the video, describing the project as "a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known," according to reports citing his social media post.

The proposed site is a parcel of land near the Freedom Tower that Florida officials transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation in 2025. The transfer included conditions that construction must begin within five years. Details of the final design, height, cost and timeline for construction remain unclear.

Presidential libraries in the United States are typically operated by private foundations in partnership with the National Archives and Records Administration, which manages the presidential records. Previous presidents' libraries have generally been more modest institutional buildings rather than commercial-style skyscrapers.

The renderings were released as a Florida airport near Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate was cleared for renaming after the president. Palm Beach International Airport is set to be renamed the President Donald J. Trump International Airport in July, officials said.

Critics, including some local voices and historians, have questioned the scale and design of the proposed Miami project compared with traditional presidential libraries, which focus on archives, exhibits and public education. Supporters of the plan have described it as a landmark befitting Trump's legacy.

As of Tuesday, the Trump Presidential Library Foundation had not released additional details on permitting, funding or architectural firm involvement beyond the conceptual renderings. No construction start date has been announced.
