WASHINGTON — Emergency response teams have been deployed to multiple disaster-affected areas in recent weeks as federal, state and local authorities respond to severe weather, flooding and other emergencies across the United States, according to emergency management officials.

State agencies and federal partners said personnel and equipment were mobilized to support communities facing storm-related threats, flood damage and ongoing recovery operations. The deployments come as several regions enter a period of heightened weather activity and continue recovery from earlier disasters.

In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to activate state emergency response resources ahead of severe weather and flash-flood threats affecting multiple parts of the state. State officials said emergency management personnel, rescue teams, transportation resources and other assets were placed on standby or deployed to potentially affected communities. According to the governor's office, the measures were taken in response to forecasts issued by the National Weather Service.

“Texas is prepared to face the anticipated severe weather moving across each region of our state,” Abbott said in a statement released by state emergency officials. He added that resources had been activated and positioned to support local response efforts.

Federal agencies also continue to support recovery operations in areas affected by recent disasters. In the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, more than 700 federal personnel from FEMA and other agencies were deployed following Super Typhoon Sinlaku, according to FEMA officials and local authorities. Response teams have been assisting with damage assessments, restoration of critical infrastructure and distribution of essential supplies.

FEMA spokesperson Veronica Verde said the effort reflects “a whole-community response to stabilize critical lifelines” in affected areas. Federal agencies reported ongoing coordination with local governments and nonprofit organizations involved in relief operations.

Elsewhere, disaster response efforts have continued following flooding and severe weather incidents. In Indonesia, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, known as BNPB, said local disaster management officials, military personnel, police officers, volunteers and rescue teams were conducting emergency operations in flood-affected communities in North Gorontalo. Authorities said public kitchens and relief distribution centers were established to support displaced residents.

Federal disaster declarations and emergency notices issued in recent months have covered a range of incidents, including severe storms, flooding, winter weather and wildfires, according to FEMA records. Emergency management officials said response operations vary depending on local conditions and the scale of damage.

As of Monday, response and recovery efforts remained active in several locations. Officials said assessments were continuing in affected areas, while emergency personnel remained deployed where assistance was still required. Details on the full extent of damage in some locations remained unclear pending further evaluations.
