MADRID — MotoGP will continue its European leg this weekend with events scheduled across multiple Grand Prix circuits, including the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen in the Netherlands, according to the official 2026 MotoGP calendar published by the championship organizer.
The Assen round forms part of the mid-season European swing of the MotoGP World Championship, which has been running through Spain, France, Italy, Hungary and the Czech Republic in recent weeks. The Dutch Grand Prix is one of the longest-running fixtures on the MotoGP calendar and typically features supporting races in Moto2 and Moto3 categories alongside the premier class, the championship’s official schedule shows.
The Assen event takes place from June 26–28, 2026, and includes free practice sessions, qualifying, sprint racing and the main race across the weekend. The circuit is hosting one of several European rounds scheduled in close succession during June, reflecting MotoGP’s traditional summer concentration of races in the region before the championship moves to Germany and Great Britain later in July and August, according to the official calendar.
Attention in the Dutch round has also been shaped by recent qualifying developments. Jorge Martín secured pole position at Assen after a late flying lap in qualifying, marking his first pole in the 2026 season, while Aprilia teammates Marco Bezzecchi and Ai Ogura completed an all-Aprilia front row, according to MotoGP qualifying results released on Saturday. Bezzecchi, who leads the championship standings, is expected to start from the front group after a competitive qualifying session.
The event follows a tightly contested phase of the championship in which multiple riders and manufacturers have shared wins across recent European rounds. Organizers have not announced changes to the Assen weekend schedule, which remains structured around standard MotoGP format including Moto3 and Moto2 support races, practice sessions on Friday, qualifying on Saturday, and races on Sunday.
The Dutch Grand Prix is expected to conclude on June 28 with the premier class race at the TT Circuit Assen, after which the championship will proceed to the German Grand Prix scheduled for mid-July at the Sachsenring, according to the official MotoGP calendar.
