NICE, France — Dutchwoman Demi Vollering secured her second Tour de France Femmes title on Sunday, winning the ninth and final stage in Nice to seal overall victory in the women’s biggest stage race.
The 29-year-old FDJ-Suez rider began the 99.2-kilometre finale with an eight-second advantage over Poland’s Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney, after taking the yellow jersey from her rival on the previous stage.
Vollering made the decisive move on the fourth and final ascent of the Col d’Eze, attacking Niewiadoma-Phinney before riding alone to the finish in Nice. Spain’s Paula Blasi finished second on the stage, one minute and four seconds behind Vollering, while Niewiadoma-Phinney was third.
Vollering finished the Tour one minute and 18 seconds ahead of Niewiadoma-Phinney in the general classification. Italy’s Elisa Longo Borghini completed the overall podium.
“I thought, I’ve never won in the yellow jersey before,” Vollering said after the finish, according to Reuters. She credited her team and those who had supported her during the race, adding that she wanted to attack alone to make clear that her team deserved the victory.
The victory marked Vollering’s third stage win of the 2026 race and her sixth Tour de France Femmes stage victory overall. It also added a second overall title to her 2023 triumph.
Vollering’s victory came after a closely contested race with Niewiadoma-Phinney. The Dutch rider entered the final stage only eight seconds ahead after winning the eighth stage in Nice and taking the yellow jersey for the first time in this year’s race.
The 2026 Tour de France Femmes began in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Aug. 1 and concluded in Nice on Aug. 9 after nine stages, according to the race’s official website.
Vollering now holds the overall title alongside her previous 2023 victory, while the Tour concluded with Niewiadoma-Phinney second and Longo Borghini third overall.
