LOS ANGELES — Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush have reunited for a 2026 tour, the band's first live performances in 11 years, with German drummer Anika Nilles joining the lineup.
The Canadian rock trio, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, announced the "Fifty Something" tour in October 2025. It honors more than 50 years of the band's music and the legacy of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who died in 2020. The tour opened on June 7, 2026, at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California — the same venue where Rush played its final show with Peart in 2015.
Lee, on bass, keyboards and vocals, and Lifeson, on guitar and vocals, are performing without Peart for the first time. Nilles, previously a collaborator with Jeff Beck, has taken on drum duties. The initial announcement covered a limited run of shows across seven cities in Canada, the United States and Mexico. Strong demand led to additional dates, expanding the North American leg to dozens of performances through late 2026, with further international dates added for 2027 in South America, the United Kingdom and Europe.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Lee addressed the decision to return. “After all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we fucking miss it,” he said. “And that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of Rush music.”
Rush last toured in 2015 on the R40 tour, which marked the end of its live performances with Peart. The band has not released new studio material since 2012's "Clockwork Angels."
The current tour features the band's catalog of progressive rock hits. Early reviews of the opening shows noted tributes to Peart, including visuals and moments of silence during performances.
Tickets for remaining dates went on sale through Ticketmaster and the band's official site, with presales for fan club members. Details on the full setlist and any additional touring personnel, such as keyboard support, remain subject to confirmation by the band.
The tour continues with further performances at the Kia Forum this week before moving to other North American cities. Extended dates into 2027 were announced in February 2026.
