MUMBAI — State Bank of India has opened applications for 7,680 Junior Associate positions in its clerical cadre, launching one of its largest recruitment exercises of the year as the country's biggest lender seeks to fill customer support and sales roles across India.
The bank said on its official careers website that online registration for the recruitment began on Aug. 11 and will remain open until Aug. 31. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17.
The positions are for Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales), which form part of SBI's clerical workforce. Candidates are required to apply for vacancies in one state or Union territory and must meet the language requirements specified for the location selected. SBI conducts recruitment and selection on a state-wise basis for the posts.
The recruitment is separate from a special drive that SBI began earlier this month to fill 1,538 backlog vacancies reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. Applications for that drive opened on Aug. 7 and close on Aug. 27, according to SBI's recruitment notice.
For the special backlog recruitment, SBI said candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the specified local language for the state or Union territory for which they apply. The bank also said there would be no provision for inter-state or inter-circle transfers for newly recruited Junior Associates, although limited intra-state transfers are permitted under its stated guidelines.
SBI's clerical recruitment is aimed at graduates. The bank's Junior Associate recruitment information states that candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational, age and other eligibility requirements, while selection involves online examinations and, where applicable, a test of proficiency in the specified local language.
The bank has directed applicants to use its official careers portal for the application process and recruitment updates. SBI's current-openings page lists Aug. 31 as the closing date for the 2026 Junior Associate recruitment.
Applications for the 7,680 regular Junior Associate positions are therefore open as of Aug. 13, with candidates required to complete registration and any applicable fee payment by the Aug. 31 deadline.
