TEHRAN — Iran’s military released footage it said showed recent missile launches targeting Israeli positions, amid ongoing tensions testing a fragile ceasefire in the region, state media and officials reported.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) disseminated videos claiming to depict ballistic missile preparations and launches in response to alleged Israeli actions, according to Iranian outlets on June 10. The releases included imagery of missiles inscribed with messages, a tactic used in prior exchanges.
Iranian officials described the actions as limited warnings following reported Israeli strikes in Lebanon and other areas. Israel stated that its defenses intercepted most incoming projectiles, with minimal damage reported. The incidents marked the first reported direct missile exchanges between the two sides since the April ceasefire agreement.
“The operation was solely intended as a warning,” an IRGC statement said, according to state-affiliated media. “Should these acts of aggression continue, future responses will be broader in scope.”
The ceasefire, brokered with U.S. involvement, aimed to halt direct hostilities that escalated earlier in 2026. Implementation has faced repeated challenges, including cross-border incidents involving Hezbollah and disputes over the Strait of Hormuz. Both sides have accused each other of violations in recent weeks.
Iranian media broadcast footage of missiles being launched toward Israeli territory, while Israeli sources reported activations of air raid sirens and successful interceptions. Details on the precise number of missiles fired and any impacts remained contested, with each side providing its own accounting.
U.S. officials have monitored the situation closely, urging restraint to preserve the truce framework. Pakistan has continued mediation efforts, including recent high-level visits, to facilitate indirect communications between Washington, Tehran and other parties.
The footage release forms part of a broader information campaign by Iranian forces during the conflict. Independent verification of the videos’ specifics was limited, as is common in such exchanges. Regional tensions persist, with concerns over potential escalation affecting maritime security and energy markets.
No immediate breakthroughs in de-escalation talks were announced following the latest incidents. Diplomatic contacts via intermediaries are expected to continue in the coming days as parties seek to stabilize the ceasefire and address underlying issues.
