CHICAGO — Researchers presented new findings on obesity, diabetes, metabolic disorders and hormone-related diseases at ENDO 2026, the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society, which concluded on Tuesday in Chicago. Organizers said the conference brought together thousands of clinicians, scientists and healthcare professionals from around the world to discuss recent advances in endocrinology research and patient care.

The four-day meeting, held from June 13 to June 16, featured nearly 2,500 research abstracts and more than 200 scientific sessions covering topics including obesity treatment, diabetes management, reproductive health, thyroid disease and endocrine-disrupting chemicals, according to the Endocrine Society. Conference organizers described the event as one of the largest global gatherings focused on hormone science and clinical endocrinology.

Among the studies presented were investigations into metabolic health in adolescents, advances in glucose management technologies and the long-term effects of therapies for rare endocrine disorders, according to conference schedules and participating institutions. Researchers from academic medical centers and pharmaceutical companies reported findings from ongoing clinical trials and observational studies, although many results have not yet undergone peer-reviewed publication.

The meeting also included presentations on emerging treatments for conditions such as hypoparathyroidism, growth hormone deficiency and achondroplasia. Several companies and research groups released updated clinical trial data during oral presentations and poster sessions. Ascendis Pharma said in a statement before the meeting that it would present long-term safety and efficacy findings from multiple endocrine disease programs. “We are committed to sharing comprehensive clinical trial results in peer-reviewed forums,” the company's chief medical officer, Aimee Shu, said in the statement.

Other presentations focused on obesity and neuroendocrine disorders. Rhythm Pharmaceuticals reported that new data from an ongoing Phase 2 study involving patients with Prader-Willi syndrome were scheduled for presentation during the conference. The company said several late-breaking abstracts had been accepted by meeting organizers.

Medical experts attending the conference noted that many findings presented at scientific meetings represent preliminary research and may be subject to further review. Researchers and clinicians used the event to discuss potential implications for future studies and clinical practice, according to conference materials.

As ENDO 2026 concluded on Tuesday, organizers said presentations and research summaries from the meeting would continue to be made available to participants and the broader medical community through conference and society publications. Details on several studies remain limited pending publication in scientific journals, according to researchers and conference materials.
