CUPERTINO — Apple Inc. has introduced Siri AI, a significantly enhanced version of its virtual assistant powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence, during its Worldwide Developers Conference this week.
The announcement came on June 8 in Cupertino, California, as part of previews for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 and other operating system updates, according to Apple’s official newsroom releases. Siri AI features more natural conversation capabilities, personal context understanding, onscreen awareness and broader knowledge integration.
The updated assistant can draw from users’ personal data such as messages, emails and photos to provide relevant information, answer questions on a wide range of topics using web knowledge, and perform actions across apps. It also includes a dedicated Siri app for reviewing conversation history and expanded Visual Intelligence features.
Apple described the new architecture as designed with a strong emphasis on user privacy. New Siri AI capabilities became available for developer testing immediately following the announcement across supported platforms, with a public beta planned for later in 2026, initially in English.
“Siri AI is a profoundly more capable and conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness,” Apple said in its announcement.
The enhancements build on earlier Apple Intelligence features introduced in previous years. Developers can now test systemwide capabilities, including improved writing tools and the ability for Siri to handle more complex, multi-step requests.
Support will extend to compatible devices running the new operating systems. Additional details on exact hardware requirements and rollout timelines for all features remain subject to future updates from the company.
The developments were outlined alongside other software improvements, including parental controls and performance enhancements across Apple’s ecosystem. Apple has positioned the updates as part of ongoing efforts to integrate artificial intelligence more deeply while maintaining on-device processing where possible.
Further testing and feedback from developers are expected in the coming months as the beta programs progress. Siri AI features for additional languages are planned following the initial English rollout.
The full release of the new operating systems is anticipated in the fall of 2026.
