TALLAHASSEE — The Powerball jackpot climbed to an estimated $786 million ahead of Wednesday night's drawing after no ticket matched all six numbers in the previous draw, extending a run of rollovers that has produced the game's largest prize of 2026 to date, lottery officials said.
The advertised jackpot carries an estimated cash value of about $341.6 million before taxes, according to the Powerball game. Winners may choose either the lump-sum cash option or an annuity paid in graduated installments over 30 years, subject to applicable federal and state taxes.
No player matched all five white balls and the Powerball in Monday's drawing, allowing the jackpot to continue growing. The winning numbers from that drawing were 8, 30, 41, 48 and 54, with the Powerball number 4, according to official lottery results.
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play, with players able to add the optional Power Play feature for an additional $1 to increase non-jackpot prizes where applicable. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night and are conducted under the Multi-State Lottery Association, with tickets sold through participating U.S. lottery jurisdictions as well as the game's recently introduced U.K. market. Lottery officials have said the international expansion does not alter the game's odds, prize structure or drawing process.
The jackpot has grown steadily since it was last won in early May, reflecting a succession of drawings without a grand-prize winner. Larger jackpots typically generate increased ticket sales, although each ticket retains the same odds of winning regardless of the size of the prize pool. The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot remain about 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball rules.
While no jackpot-winning ticket was sold in the most recent drawing, lower-tier prizes continued to be awarded. Connecticut lottery officials said one ticket sold in the state matched enough numbers to win a $100,000 prize, illustrating that substantial non-jackpot payouts remain available even when the top prize goes unclaimed.
Wednesday's drawing is scheduled for 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. If no ticket matches all six numbers, the jackpot is expected to roll over again, with the next official estimate to be announced by Powerball after the drawing.
