SEOUL — Samsung Electronics is offering launch promotions for its Galaxy Z Fold 8 series ahead of the company’s latest foldable smartphone release, with discounts, trade-in incentives and bundled offers available in selected markets as the company prepares to expand sales of its premium devices.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and related foldable models entered pre-order periods in July 2026 ahead of availability on Aug. 7, according to Samsung promotional materials. The company’s offers include storage upgrades, trade-in programs, financing options and discounts on accessories and related products, depending on market conditions.
In Indonesia, Samsung said customers pre-ordering the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could receive benefits including a discounted memory upgrade, Samsung Care+ trial coverage, accessory bundle discounts and selected bank promotions. The company listed pre-order availability from July 22 through Aug. 13, 2026, subject to terms and conditions.
Telecommunications providers have also introduced separate launch packages. Telkomsel said it partnered with Samsung Electronics Indonesia to offer a bundled plan that combines the Galaxy Foldable 8 series with its mobile services and a smartphone trade-in program during the pre-order period.
Retailers in other markets have promoted additional incentives. Some U.S. retailers offered gift cards and purchase discounts for early buyers of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series before the official release date, according to published retailer promotions.
Samsung has positioned its foldable lineup as a key part of its premium smartphone strategy as competition increases among manufacturers developing devices with flexible displays. The company’s Galaxy Z Fold series competes with other foldable smartphones from Chinese manufacturers and remains one of Samsung’s flagship product categories.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch follows Samsung’s annual strategy of introducing updated foldable devices during its mid-year Galaxy Unpacked events. The company has focused recent foldable releases on improvements to hardware design, software features and integration of artificial intelligence capabilities across its ecosystem.
Samsung has not announced any changes to the official release schedule, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series continuing its rollout through pre-order channels and retail partners following the launch event.
